Plastic Strap

Signode Packaging Systems is the leading worldwide provider of plastic strapping systems for the securement of a wide range of products, from newspapers and produce to PVC pipe and cotton bales. Two plastic strapping materials - Contrax polypropylene and Tenax® polyester - are the basic components of our plastic strapping systems. Contrax Polypropylene Strapping

    Pai and Pai manufactures plastic strapping for use with hand tools and high production power strapping machines. Pai and Pai's manufacturing processes are designed to:

  • Control surface properties - to minimize tensioning effort, increase tension-transmission around corners and improve operating efficiency
  • Improve split-resistance to increase reliability in tools and power equipment
Contrax polypropylene strapping is a good choice for light and medium-duty applications, including palletizing, unitizing, bundling, carton closure and reinforcement. It resists splitting and has a smooth, uniform surface so it performs reliably in power strapping machines and hand tools. Contrax® polypropylene strapping has "elastic memory" which absorbs shock and keeps strapping tight during handling and shipping.

High-Strength Tenax Polyester Strapping

New High-Strength Tenax™ is a heavy-duty polyester strap that has been specially engineered to provide an extremely tough and strong alternative to steel. Ideal for both medium and heavy-duty loads. Tenax provides outstanding pack security for a wide variety of applications, including aluminium, corrugated products, metal, construction materials, timber, textiles and unitised cans/bottles. Not surprisingly it is rapidly becoming the preferred packaging material for the many industries that demand high performance and excellent product presentation.

Tenax Polyester Strapping

Tenax polyester strapping is designed for medium to heavy-duty palletising and unitising applications and can be applied by hand tools or power strapping equipment. This strapping material yields higher break strengths and maintains a higher level of retained strap tension than polypropylene strapping for maximum load stability. This makes it ideal for signature bundles and palletised loads of printed materials that tend to shift during handling and transit. Tenax is available in sizes ranging from 9mm to 16mm.

Seals

Basic seal joint types

Notch joint

One way to lock strap ends is to press, or “Notch” the seal and the strapping it joins to form tabs at the edges. These tabs are bent down (regular) or bent up (reverse). The strength of the notch-joint comes from the mechanical interlock between the seal and the strapping. Notch-joints are typically used on waxed strapping in packaging and unitizing applications.

Crimp joint

Another way to seal the ends of strapping is to press, or “Crimp” undulations into the seal and strapping ends. The strength of crimp-joint comes from the deformed seal creating high frictional forces. Crimp joints produce high static and dynamic joint strengths and are used on applications like car loading, where the strapped load is subjected to severe impact.

Sealless joint

Sealless joint can be made with Signode manual or pneumatic combination tools. Sealless joints do not require the use of metal seals and provide static joint strength equivalent to Notch-type joints.

Packrite™ BOPP Tape


Pai and Pai offers PACKRITE™ pressure sensitive self adhesive BOPP Tapes are available in many sizes and colours to meet the customer needs. Printed tapes are also available on demand. PACKRITE™ BOPP Tape is recommended on Carton sealing machines for automatic sealing of cartons labeling, protecting, reinforcing, combining and colour coding. These tapes are highly resistant in to heat and aerial oxidation and render the pack pilfer evident.

Corner, Edge & Surface Protection

Angleboard™

Angleboard is manufactured with multiple layers of paperboard, laminated with glue and formed into a rigid right angle, providing exceptional strength for load stability and packaging protection. Angleboard is available in a variety of lengths, leg-sizes and thicknesses.

LITEC®

LITEC Edgeprotectors are manufactured in a proprietary process with paper, LDPE and foil. The materials are bonded and laminated under controlled heat and pressure for diverse applications. Raw materials and water based inks used are environment friendly and recyclable. LITEC was developed to overcome problems associated with damp/wet conditions. As a result it is very effective in freezer/cold storage applications.

Edgeboard™

Edgeboard is manufactured from Polyolefinic materials reinforced with cellulose fibers and wrapped for finish and strength. Edgeboards are essential for edge protection, pallets or boxes reinforcement, wedging, stacking and pallet stabilization strengthening.

Protex®

Protex is a close structured plastic material. Protex provides a cushion between the product and the outer face of the packaging and its superior mechanical performance provides effective coil or pack protection. Protex is available in coil or sheet form and can be cut to the desired size with a hand knife. Its patented "T" pattern allows for easy cutting especially in a straight line. Protex's unique "T" design gives maximum strength with minimum material. The "T" design enhances rigidity in both linear and width directions. It enables easy and secure over-lapping with excellent interlocking

Slip Sheets

Slip Sheets from the leading industrial packing solutions provider, ITW India Limited , are the moodern replacement for wooden pallets used in shipping and handing merchandise in both domestic and international shipment. Slip Sheets are strong, flat and solid with the load bearing area doubling up as the platform for unitizing.

Airbags

ITW Shippers' polywoven air bags and SuperFlow™ Inflation System can handle the load during all modes of transportation, including over-the-road, overseas container and railcar shipments. Inserted between the palletized goods, they immobilize loads to prevent side-to-side and front-to-back shifting, tumbling and abrasion so loads arrive safely and intact.

Protective packing


Air bubble films


Air Bubble Films are make of entrapped air bubbles between two layers of extruded PE film - through a single continuous process starting from film extrusion to lamination that forms bubbles between layers. It is ideally suited to packaging of exceptionally fragile items like glassware and chinaware, because it is light weight, highly flexible, extremely shock absorbent and abrasion resistant, hygienic and non-toxic.
Available in: 45 gs, tp 250 gsm thickness, Natural colour, 1mtr., 1.5 mtrs., 2.0mtrs. ( Standard Widths ) . Available also in anti-static / biodegradable grades.
Apart from the standard specifications mentioned, the other & customized dimensions, sizes, colours or grades are also available on request ( subject to techno-commercial viability )

Capcell(Cross Linked PE/EVA Foam)


A high performance cross linked material with extremely fine microcellular structure, smooth flat surface, excellent mechanical properties, high resiliency & elasticity, good dimesional stability and ease of thermo formability available in EVA grades in various attractive colours. Excellent for thermoforming, shoe insole, various automobile, marine, sports and several other applications

Foamguard(PE Netting )


Ideal for packing delicate and fragile goods like bottles and handicrafts in addition to fruit packing. Available in: 45mm to 100mm dia strand netting, Natural & Other Colours.


Extruded EPE


Extruded EPE foams are Lightweight, Tough & durable, Flexible & resilient, Highly shock absorbent, Non-toxic, Odourless, Corrosion resistant, Water & water vapor proof, Fungi and insect resistant, Chemicals resistant.

Insu Tube(PE Tubes)


Most suitable for cold insulation applications. Available in UV resistant grade, 6mm to 50mm inner dia, 20 mm to 70mm outer dia. Natural, Black & Other Colours.
